Facial Laser Hair Treatment

Laser removes the hair at the follicle and reaches the root directly, thus ingrown hair is also removed in the process.

The length of an individual treatment may last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more, and has some depending factors:
• Size of the area to be treated.
• Kind of hair.
• Skin type.

Laser hair removal for the upper lip takes about 5 minutes. Laser hair removal therapy for the full face can take about 15 minutes. The therapy demands repeated on a monthly basis and typically, people require 4-6 sessions.

In some cases, the treatment may cause some minor discomfort — from a slight tingling to a slight pinch. For those patients who cannot tolerate the pain on the sensitive facial areas, topical anesthesia is provided.

The ultimate appearance of the treated area immediately after the laser hair removal session will vary from patient to patient. Side effects are considered rare, provided they are done with the right laser specifications and from a reputed clinic. Any kind of swelling or redness at the treatment site usually vanishes within a couple hours.

Precautions for Laser Facial Hair Removal
One needs to take certain precautions before going for the treatment.
• Although laser hair removal specialists proclaim the therapy as permanent, a 50% reduction after three treatments, performed six weeks apart, is more realistic. Especially on facial areas, maintenance treatments are extremely important to ensure complete removal of facial hair.
• It is recommended that patients avoid laser treatment around the eyes - on the brow area and in between the eyes. Because laser rays can penetrate deeply, it can have harmful if not performed correctly and may have long-term implications. Tweezing and waxing is considered a better solution in these areas.
